From Mirror.co.uk:

ONCE it was an unimaginable crime. But as events over the past few days have proven, the shooting of children has become a shocking reality of gun crime Britain.

Youngsters, particularly in deprived inner cities, are increasingly being caught in gangland gunmen's crossfire.

Efforts to tighten gun laws, by banning handguns in the wake of the 1996 Dunblane massacre, have failed.

It has resulted in an explosion of gun crimes in the past few years, and with that the terrible toll of children killed and injured grows.
Click on the news link and you can read the list of children caught in the middle of what is an increasing threat on British society. Ever since the 1996 handgun ban was put in effect, crime has drastically increased. Not surprisingly, what can be used as a potential lifesaver is exclusively used by criminals and gang members.
