R.I.P. Superman

Monday, October 11, 2004

On Sunday, October 10, 2004, my childhood hero, Christopher Reeve of the timeless Superman movies, was called from this earth to be with God and rest eternally in Heaven. It was those four Superman films that jump-started my admiration for fantasy and all that can only be conceived by the mind. I clearly remember hearing about Reeve's tragic horse-riding accident back in 1995, the accident that until his death kept him bound to a wheelchair and respirator where he pushed for the advancement of stem-cell research. And although he never regained his strength here on earth, Christopher Reeve is once again free and is now flying higher than his cape could ever take him.
